The Art of Leather Goods & Footwear Design & Production.

After graduation in fashion design from the University of Florence, with a specialisation in leather goods and footwear, she launched her career in design and technical production within the Italian luxury industry, working with renowned brands like Vivienne Westwood and Givenchy.
Shima Zar is the technical and creative designer who blends bold ideas with grounded craftsmanship. In 2010, she founded her first creative studio in Florence, born from a deep love for design, materials, and the magic that happens when concept meets execution. With a background rooted in Italian luxury production, she’s collaborated with iconic names like Tom Ford, and Dolce & Gabbana, bringing clarity and creativity to each brand’s unique vision.
In 2013, she spearheaded "Via Sicilia", The Dolce & Gabbana publication in the Emirates that explored fashion, luxury, beauty, art, and the techniques behind them. The project highlighted the process and poetry behind the luxury industry tracing the journey from concept to craft, and spotlighting the creators and hands behind the scenes.
She designs with intent and stays with the product through every stage: sketch to sample, make to pack. From the moment it takes its first breath in the world until it’s packed with the same level of attention and care that went into its creation.
She believes that true beauty is not just imagined but engineered, and that the best work happens when creativity and precision walk hand in hand.
